Fox-Terror Review

Fox-Terror is a 1957 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a fine Foghorn Leghorn short.

A fox tries to get the young rooster, but when Foghorn and Dawg arrive, he vanishes, so the two continue to think that the rooster is just thirsty. Eventually, the fox attempts many conniving tricks to get the two away from the barn. The problem here is that water gag. It did not work. They should have literally made up any other thing for that rooster and it would have been funnier than this uninspired mess.

With that being said, the fox is great in the usually foxy, manipulative manner. I loved the scenes where both Dawg and Foghorn were made fools by him, and especially that quiz show sequence was very well executed. The animation is also good and Foghorn himself is very amusing. His singing is so much fun here.

Fox-Terror needed a better central gag, but the fox and Foghorn steal the show anyway.

My Rating – 3.9
