Chili Corn Corny Review

Chili Corn Corny Review

Chili Corn Corny is a 1965 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a pretty weak cartoon.

Daffy owns a cornfield. A crow sits outside, dejected, because he’s starving and won’t take any corn. The scarecrow frightens him and justifiably so because Daffy is hiding inside with a shotgun. Loco Crow was a new character created for this short and he was too similar to Jose and Manuel from previous shorts. He’s okay, but hardly memorable.

How Speedy Gonzales factored into all of this was beyond me. He did not fit into this story and he was rather underutilized. Daffy has his moments, but overall this is certainly far from his best roles. The animation is fine and so is the score, but the overall plot was thin and the gags were tiresome. The only good scene was the ending where the crow turned on everybody. That was fun.

Chili Corn Corny is a tiresome Looney Tunes cartoon that did not treat any of its three characters properly, though it does have a great ending.

My Rating – 3.2
