For Scent-imental Reasons is a 1949 animated short that is a Merry Melody starring Pepe Le Pew. It is a very good, really funny short.

This short is very funny with many memorable and hilarious moments with Pepe who is phenomenal here. The use of Penelope Pussycat is also superb and the two are great together. Their dynamic is great and it was so funny watching her try to escape from him. The action is excellent and as for the highlights, the scene with the gun shot is easily the best and funniest one.

The short isn’t without its problems as the use of French is overwhelming at first and the ending is nice, but it isn’t explained well how the cat is into him all of a sudden. But apart from that, the movie deserved its Oscar as it truly is a memorable experience with more than enough unforgettable moments and a terrific use of its premise and characters. It also has excellent animation and a great use of the score.

For Scent-imental Reasons is not only funny, but also really well animated and scored with an excellent use of its characters and a terrific humor.
