The Slick Chick Review

The Slick ChickĀ Review

The Slick Chick is a 1962 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a pretty flawed short.

Foghorn Leghorn makes the mistake of volunteering to mind Widow Hen’s mischievous son while she’s away. This is one of those parody shorts from Warner Bros. that has not stood the test of time for the obvious reason of the material that it parodies being obscure now. Thus, I did not get the references and I also found this kid character insufferable.

With that being said, Foghorn is a lot of fun as always and his reactions are hilarious. Whenever he gets frustrated and confounded, those moments are priceless. He got some very memorable lines here while the animation is also pretty strong. I just wish that the overall plot was better and less timely.

The Slick Chick is one of those far from timeless parody cartoons that feature solid characterization, but a weak storyline.

My Rating – 3.6
