Prehistoric Pink ReviewPrehistoric Pink Review

Prehistoric Pink is a 1968 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.

This one is set in the prehistoric past, and that is obvious from the first moment when we see ancient plants and dinosaurs. The animation is the true highlight here. The color orange and also green is so beautifully utilized into this very different in look, authentic short for the series. I also found The Little Man’s role excellent, and the two working together was a very nice change in pace.

However, Pink isn’t all that well used here, and the entire movie stubbornly decided not to make use of its setting all that much. The moving of that rock is the crux of the entire runtime, and needless to say, it quickly gets old. I wanted a bigger emphasis on the dinosaurs themselves. The rock moving had some good moments, but overall it was neither spectacular nor memorable.

Prehistoric Pink has its fine moments and is gorgeously animated, but it failed to utilize on its prehistoric setting all that well.

My Rating – 3.8
