Porky's Pastry Pirates ReviewPorky’s Pastry Pirates Review

Porky’s Pastry Pirates is a 1942 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a pretty weak flick.

Now I did like here that Porky got a lot more to do than in many previous entries in the series and I honestly do think that he’s making a comeback slowly but surely. That’s great as I do like the character a lot. However, the other character inspired by James Cagney here has his moments, but is overall nowhere near as amusing or as funny as he should have been.

There are definitely some terrific interactions between the two characters, but for the most part the film is slim in terms of both storytelling and momentum as the pacing is slow and the movie is sorely lacking in action. I am getting tired of this problem from the series as they need to fix it. They need to strengthen the pace and add energy to their films.

Porky’s Pastry Pirates is solid in characterization, but quite weak in action and story.

My Rating – 3.4
