People Are Bunny Review

People Are Bunny is a 1959 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a pretty good, entertaining short.

Daffy Duck manages to get Bugs into a TV studio in order to win the thousand dollar bounty. The one thing that dated this cartoon too much was its whole emphasis on this show from the fifties that it parodies. All of the references flew over my head, which is to be expected. The reusing of some animation from previous shorts was also not great.

However, this is still a good entry in the series due to fantastic gags involving Bugs and Daffy. The way he tricks him every single time here was very entertaining to watch. Daffy is at his classic greedy self while the bunny is at his conniving best. The animation is fluid and polished while the situations that they get themselves into are mostly very memorable.

People Are Bunny has its dated elements, but the Daffy/Bugs dynamic here was terrific and some of the gags were very amusing.
