Fastest with the Mostest Review

Fastest with the Mostest is a 1960 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very funny cartoon.

This Road Runner short is, similar to so many other entries in the series, much better in the second than in the first half. The former half has its strong scenes, but the bomb and the waterfall gags are only solid. The latter half is where the best stuff lies. The bucket segment is hilarious, especially the moment when the coyote relaxes, but still falls down the cliff.

Whenever this series includes funny signs, I love the shorts the most. Here, there is an abundance of signs in the bucket segment, all quite amusing. However, the final section represents one of the best moments in the history of the series. First, the moment when the two were so close to each other was instantly iconic and a very rare occurrence. But then, when he falls down and the bird is still up even though physics should not allow it, the coyote makes a comment upon the lack of law of gravity in the scene upon which the bird says that he did not study law. That final line was hilarious.

Fastest with the Mostest is so funny in the final two sequences. It’s a great Road Runner short with some funny lines included. It started off the 60s decade amazingly.

My Rating – 4.3
