My Bunny Lies over the Sea ReviewMy Bunny Lies over the Sea Review

My Bunny Lies over the Sea is a 1948 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a very weird flick.

This is a very odd movie because it follows Bugs having an argument and a game of competition with a man who is basically a Scottish Elmer Fudd. The voice is very similar to Fudd’s. I found this character stereotypical, but still quite fun. The movie needed more action, that’s for sure, as it’s almost entirely happening in one spot.

But the dialogue carried it though the finish line highly successfully. Yes, the quick-rapid lines amused me by both of them, and especially Bugs Bunny is very entertaining here. I also really liked the animation as well as the score, but again even though some scenes are quite memorable, the movie overall isn’t as much.

My Bunny Lies over the Sea has strong characterization and dialogue, but it needed more action and energy to it.

My Rating – 3.8
