Museum Scream Review

Museum Scream is a 2004 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series.

When Sylvester hears that a children’s museum’s prize exhibit is Tweety Pie, he tries to raid the museum in order to have lunch. He doesn’t succeed in his mission of course. I was taken aback at how good this modern cartoon was. It seemed so old-fashioned and timeless in its formula and the full utilization of a terrific setting. The museum fully came alive with the highlight being that digestion sequence that was so funny and imaginative.

Sylvester’s troubles were consistently entertaining to follow and he was very memorable here. As for Tweety, he wasn’t as hilarious as he was in the classic cartoons, but their dynamic was still excellent. Granny stole the show in that one sequence that she got with one line that was so unexpected and funny. The animation is polished and solid, though hardly great. I didn’t quite like that ending, but the rest of the short was superb.

Museum Scream is a very strong modern Looney Tunes cartoon that benefits from an excellent setting well utilized for some terrific gags.
