Lost and Crowned is a 2020 animated short film that is an animated spin-off from the game Clash of Clans.
This story follows a serious, hardworking skeleton guard, Peter, and his relentlessly curious younger brother, Larry. When both are tasked with guarding the Red King’s crown, Larry can’t keep his hands to himself and delightful chaos ensues. It’s a simple plot meant mostly for the little ones, but the characters are so cute and endearing that it really worked for me.
I have never played this game before, but of course I know about it as it’s a famous mobile strategy game. The characters and this whole universe intrigued me here as everything looked lived in and so cute. The animation is wonderful and the short is very cinematic, which I did not expect. It’s long, but well paced and actually a lot of fun. The story overall is just too simple and typical as we have seen it many times before in animation while the action can also be repetitive.
