Kitty Kornered ReviewKitty Kornered Review

Kitty Kornered is a 1946 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a pretty solid Porky outing.

This short is actually a coupling between Porky Pig and Sylvester which is the first such pairing and although at first I found it odd, I ended up really liking it. I would have liked to have seen less characters in this film, but still those smaller cats were quite amusing. I also liked Sylvester here whose lisp is always very funny, but he was not as memorable as he is when solo.

Porky steals the show for me in this one which I did not expect in a Sylvester cartoon, but it happened nonetheless. I found some of his one-liners perfectly delivered and quite funny plus this type of plot where the cats invade his house is perfect for the little pig and he fitted so right within it. The animation’s also strong here.

Kitty Kornered isn’t the strongest short with these two characters, but still Sylvester has his moments and Porky is excellent in it.

My Rating – 3.9
