Homeless Hare ReviewHomeless Hare Review

Homeless Hare is a 1950 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a pretty good flick.

A construction worker destroys Bugs’ home with a steam shovel and refuses to repair the damage. It’s a very good premise that really works in execution too, though it wasn’t fully executed to greatness. I wanted more memorable moments and scenarios, but the ending is very strong and Bugs is great.

I liked the conflict here and his firm intention to fix things. Bugs is great per usual, but the construction worker should have been better developed and more memorable overall. The setting is well utilized and somewhat different. The animation is also very strong as is the score.

Homeless Hare could have been better, but as a solid Bugs outing, it delivers. The concept was also quite strong.

My Rating – 3.9
