Hare-Abian Nights Review

Hare-Abian Nights Review

Hare-Abian Nights is a 1959 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a filler episode.

Bugs entertains the Sultan with tales from his cartoons: ‘Bully for Bugs’, ‘Sahara Hare’ and ‘Water, Water Every Hare’. This movie starts off with a new bit, but then it moves to recycling the previous cartoons with no original stuff anywhere to be found.

The opening musical segment is fine, but far from memorable. As for the shorts that they recycled here, I liked all of them, especially ‘Water, Water Every Hare’, that was truly a fantastic cartoon. However, the three cartoons were not well mixed here at all, making for a typically chaotic, unnecessary filler short.

Hare-Abian Nights is a standard filler cartoon. It incorporates solid stories, but as a short film itself, it felt unnecessary.

My Rating – 3
