Feather Dusted Review

Feather Dusted Review

Feather Dusted is a 1955 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is just solid.

Foghorn tries to play games with Egghead, Jr., but finds that playing with the child can be dangerous. Egghead is so amusing in this short. In particular, him nodding and being misunderstood was quite funny. I also liked Foghorn in this mode where he encouraged him to play. The various situations were well realized for sure.

However, most weren’t that memorable or exciting. They are all serviceable without ever being genuinely great. What especially annoyed me was the ending. It was very anticlimactic and really unfunny in its water in pants gag. Overall, the animation is good and the short is cute, but nothing special to be honest.

Feather Dusted has good characterization, but the action left a lot to be desired as well as the humor.

My Rating – 3.6
