A Broken Leghorn Review

A Broken Leghorn Review

A Broken Leghorn is a 1959 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is such a funny cartoon.

On Old MacDonald’s farm, an egg hatches in slow-witted hen Miss Prissy’s nest, and out of the shell comes a baby rooster. Fearing he will be replaced by the kid rooster and sent to be slaughtered, Foghorn Leghorn plots to do away with the little tyke. The only issue I’ve had with this Looney Tunes entry is the somewhat predictable nature of its gags, especially those that revolved around Foghorn trying to get rid of the little tyke.

Still though, those scenes were for the most part wildly entertaining. The premise itself was ingenious, especially for this character. It was executed superbly. The beginning with the hens was very amusing and the ending with that Foghorn’s defeatist line was so humorous. As is the case with most of his shorts, his lines of dialogue are once again scene-stealers.

A Broken Leghorn is one of the better Foghorn Leghorn shorts thanks to a brilliantly premise very well executed and some superb lines of dialogue.

My Rating – 4.2
