The Dog HouseThe Dog House Review

The Dog House is a 1952 animated short that is the 72nd Tom and Jerry cartoon. It is a very traditional, but amusing entry.

Spike is building a dog house but Tom is chasing Jerry and continually wrecking it. This cartoon is incredibly traditional, even too much in some points. It could have been more original, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t entertaining because it most certainly is. It is such a fun, incredibly amusing entry that was engaging from start to finish.

I really liked the action here. As I said, there isn’t anything groundbreaking here, but at least it’s still very well executed, no matter how safe it is. I loved that ending of course, but almost every scenario here worked and the film is funny. I really liked Spike in this one and the titular duo are both excellent. The Dog House is, for all of those reasons, one of the best Tom and Jerry shorts of 1952.

The Dog House is a very traditional, but such an entertaining short filled with good action and a nice use of characters.

My Rating – 4.2
