Porky and Gabby Review

Porky and Gabby is a 1937 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very forgettable short.

This entry introduces Gabby the goat and I honestly do not know what to think about this character. The voice is too angry, harsh and just sounds off with the design of the character which is honestly pretty cute and appealing. It was interesting seeing these two friends on a camping adventure, but the film did not do anything for me.

I liked that “on the road” storyline approach but it wasn’t utilized the most and not even properly as the film is forgettable and not really engaging. The score is also unremarkable and only the animation is excellent, especially the character design which is very good.

Porky and Gabby is very well animated, but weakly plotted and with troublesome Gabby.
