 Vim, Vigor and Vitaliky is a 1936 animated short from Popeye the Sailor series. It is one of the funniest entries of the time.

This is a very funny short. Bluto goes in drag so he can harass Popeye in his gym. I found this premise to be hilarious and it is executed in such a way as well with so many funny moments. Bluto is the finest he’s been since the early days. He is so funny, his walk is hilarious and he is naturally the highlight here. But Olive also has her fine moments.

Popeye is terrific. His lines are so memorable here especially the one about not kicking a woman and also “She’s a he!” cracked me up. So funny. The animation is really good and the music is well utilized. It also starts and ends on a fine note. The action could have been a bit better given the great scenario, but this entry is for the most part a fantastic one and one of the best Popeye shorts of the time, that’s for sure.

Vim, Vigor and Vitaliky is one of the funniest Popeye shorts due to Bluto being terrific and Popeye having many memorable and just hilarious lines.
