I Never Changes My Altitude ReviewI Never Changes My Altitude Review

I Never Changes My Altitude is a 1937 animated short from Popeye the Sailor series. It is a disappointing entry that benefits from some strong moments here and there.

Olive leaves Popeye for an aviator and it is up to Popeye to win her back by fighting Bluto mid-air. That is the plot of I Never Changes My Altitude and it is pretty good. It’s just that the execution of said plot and unique setting is nowhere as great as it should have been. The action and fights are disappointing and the humor is also pretty underwhelming for Popeye standards.

But it does benefit from an excellent use of the titular character who is the only truly entertaining and funny character in this entry. Some of his lines were hilarious. I also really liked that inventive ending and some moments during the fights were really interesting. I just wish that there were more of those moments. But the sky setting is great for the series and the animation is terrific here.

I Never Changes My Altitude is disappointing in its action and humor, but pretty good in its plot, interesting setting and some really inventive moments.

 My Rating – 4
