Weasel Stop Review

Weasel Stop Review

Weasel Stop is a 1956 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a solid short.

Foghorn Leghorn tries to screw over a shaggy dog who guards the chicken by attempting to help the weasel to get the chicken. This is an odd entry in this franchise with Henery Hawk nowhere to be found and the dog is also a new one. It also bothered me how Foghorn got the best of the dog at first, but then everything changed. It felt disparate in its two halves.

But the second half is excellent. The weasel is very well designed and he looks so ugly. The two teaming up against the dog provided some hilarious moments and the sight of this shaggy old dog managing to stand his ground against all odds was so funny, and the dog is just very endearing. I loved his black-sounding voice and some very amusing lines of dialogue.

Weasel Stop is disparate in its two halves, but undeniably fun and funny in its very well realized second half.

My Rating – 3.9
