The Goofy Gophers ReviewThe Goofy Gophers Review

The Goofy Gophers is a 1947 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a weaker entry in the series.

It follows a dog who gets tormented by two mischievous gophers. It’s a standard premise that’s well mined for some entertaining action here and there, but overall I was disappointed with it. I loved the dog: though stupid, he’s still rather entertaining and endearing. The gophers are also fun and clever, but overly typical characters for this type of film.

The Goofy Gophers features solid animation and score, but nothing particularly amazing though. I did like some of the action and humor, but for the most part there is nothing truly memorable here in terms of the scenes. As for the Bugs Bunny cameo at the end, I have mixed feelings. It was unexpected and amusing, but still out of place here and unnecessary even.

The Goofy Gophers is fun and solid, but overall neither particularly exciting nor memorable.

My Rating – 3.7
