Porky's Midnight Matinee ReviewPorky’s Midnight Matinee Review

Porky’s Midnight Matinee is a 1941 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a pretty weak flick.

They surely are in a rut as 1941 certainly has to rank as the worst year ever for Looney Tunes/Merry Melodies series. This is another unfortunate effort. Yes, the animation is fine and I actually found some moments really admirably animated such as Porky’s close-up. But other than that, the film has nothing to offer.

Porky got a bigger role which is a positive, but that pygmy ant is entirely forgettable. He is annoying, uninteresting and just plain dull and pointless. The action is almost non-existent as this is one of those slow, uneventful, padding cartoons that are way too tedious to enjoy.

Porky’s Midnight Matinee is definitely well animated, but otherwise boring, uneventful and slow.

My Rating – 3.1
