Odor-able Kitty ReviewOdor-able Kitty Review

Odor-able Kitty is a 1945 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a weird entry.

Pepé Le Pew finally shows up in this cartoon which is his debut in the series. And ultimately I was underwhelmed. I liked him of course as he’s always great, amusing and very memorable. But the rest of the cartoon did not feel like his usual film mostly for the worse.

Here a cat disguises himself as a skunk in order to escape his troubles and the womanizing skunk is after him. It can be considered to be a gay storyline, but I personally just found it to be a situational comedy and not a particularly funny one at that. The ending is fun and some moments are great, but the story itself did not fit Pepé at all. I did like the cat character quite a bit though.

Odor-able Kitty has its strengths such as the characterization, but the overall storyline felt rather odd for a Pepé Le Pew debut short.

My Rating – 3.6
