Jungle Drums ReviewJungle Drums Review

Jungle Drums is a 1943 animated short film from Famous Studios. It is the fifteenth entry in the Superman series.

Deep in the African jungle, Superman has to save Lois and fight the Nazis at their outpost. This was a particularly scattershot movie as for some unknown reason to me, the movie showed his origins and Krypton. It was great, but it doesn’t fit with this movie at all. It is edited way too harshly.

But other than that, the short is very good thanks to still great animation and very good score. Lois is again quite proactive and useful which I loved to witness, and Superman has some great scenes as well. I liked the settings and how the villains were utilized, the realism is evident and that final scene with Hitler is so cool because he’s realistic and caricatured, and thus it holds great power.

Jungle Drums is edited oddly, but it looks great, the action is solid and the movie’s plot is admirably realistic.

My Rating – 3.9
