Fowl Weather ReviewFowl Weather Review

Fowl Weather is a 1953 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a solid, but weaker film for this duo.

Sylvester disguises himself as a scarecrow to sneak up on Tweety. Tweety runs into a chicken coop and is protected by a mother hen and an aggressive rooster. It’s  fine premise, and I particularly liked the third act of the movie which was too crazy, but definitely memorable, there’s no denying that.

The movie is particularly strong when it comes to Hector the Bulldog whose role here is quite expanded and fun. Granny also appears in a rather ditzy turn, which was quite interesting and different. But the main duo, Tweety and Sylvester, aren’t really all that well utilized in this short, and the entire story is too silly.

Fowl Weather has some great moments near the end and Hector is great, but the main duo isn’t all that well used this time around.

My Rating – 3.5
