Donald’s Dog Laundry Review

Donald’s Dog Laundry Review

Donald’s Dog Laundry is a 1940 animated short film from the Donald Duck series. It is a very forgettable short.

Donald tries to convince Pluto to try his mechanical laundromat for dogs. This movie gave us the rare pairing between Donald Duck and Pluto and it just does not work. Well, some scenes worked, but then they had to go and extend only a couple of gags that they had to an entire short’s runtime. The end result is a repetitious flick that also suffered from an uninteresting ending.

Donald being a father figure of sorts and also being quite vicious made for a fun watch. He was great. As for Pluto, he was as endearing as ever, but the movie needed a stronger dynamic between the two. The movie’s slow pace and a lack of truly memorable gags hurt it in the long run. The gags were at first mildly amusing, but then they became tiresome.

Donald’s Dog Laundry is a charming and endearing flick, but one that was also repetitive and forgettable.

My Rating – 3.3
