Curtain Razor Review

Curtain Razor Review

Curtain Razor is a 1949 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very weak flick.

This is one of those movies that are old-fashioned to a fault as this is the type of a Looney Tunes short that Warner Bros. made circa 1934. It was standard then and just solid, but weaker now. I liked Porky here, and I really liked a couple of amusing gags here and there, but for the most part I wasn’t thrilled with it.

It consists of various unrelated gags as Porky is in a talent show, and various animals start performing. Some of them are certainly memorable, but most not so much. The animation’s good and the pacing is also solid, but it needed better humor and much more memorable situations to make it above average.

Curtain Razor has its moments and is well made overall, but it’s too old-fashioned in storytelling approach.

My Rating – 3.4

  1. Don’t forget that some of these gags were used in Show Biz Bugs, which makes this Porky short more original and particularly memorable.
