Buccaneer Bunny Review

Buccaneer Bunny is a 1948 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very entertaining flick.

Yosemite Sam is a pirate in this short, but Bugs Bunny is also there to torment him to no end. This is actually one of the more violent of their shorts so far as I don’t think the bunny has ever been more aggressive toward poor old Sam than in this short. That made it a very memorable excursion.

I did find the overall action repetitive as the cannonball scenes were simply repeated a bit too much for my own taste. That made the entire film seem lazy. But overall, this is a pretty well animated, very well utilized in its setting cartoon that uses the ship to its fullest advantage. I loved both characters here with Bugs being particularly effective.

Buccaneer Bunny is not only well animated, but also hugely entertaining. Though repetitive in action, it’s fun and amusing throughout.
