Inki and the Lion (1941)
Inki and the Lion Review
Inki and the Lion is a 1941 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a very amusing cartoon.
It is the second cartoon to feature Inki and the Mynah bird. Although ‘The Little Lion Hunter’ was definitely better and more original, I still really liked Inki and the Lion despite it being slower in pacing, much less original and lacking in highly memorable gags. But still the score is fantastic and the animation is very stellar.
I loved Inki per usual as he’s such an endearing character. The Mynah bird is once again an unforgettable character who here showed how supernatural and powerful it is in that terrific ending. I also really liked the lion and the entire cave part was the highlight for me. The film is very charming and again pleasantly mysterious in its score.
Inki and the Lion definitely isn’t as good as the first movie, but still this Inki and the Mynah bird cartoon is pleasant enough and with a great ending.
