Woody’s Kook Out Review

Woody’s Kook Out Review

Woody’s Kook Out is a 1961 animated short film from the Woody Woodpecker series. It is a pretty solid flick.

In a Florida swamp, starving Gabby Gator lures Woody Woodpecker to his shack, promising him a luxurious feast. In actuality, he wants to eat the woodpecker himself. This is pretty much a repeat of the previous movies starring Gabby Gator, so it’s pretty unoriginal in plot and scenarios. The movie is far from hilarious and the animation is only serviceable.

With that being said, I like this gator character quite a bit and I find him to be a lot of fun. The setting was again well conveyed and Gabby did have some very good plans throughout. That cellar sequence was so good. Woody isn’t as memorable this time around, but the two still had a pretty amusing dynamic.

Woody’s Kook Out has a pretty uninspired plot, but the movie flows well and the character dynamic is fun.

My Rating – 3.6
