Home Sweet Homewrecker Review

Home Sweet Homewrecker is a 1962 animated short film from the Woody Woodpecker series. It is a pretty weak cartoon.

Woody has a tit-for-tat with Bucky Beaver as they attempt to destroy each other’s house in this odd cartoon. We haven’t seen a lot of these cartoons where Woody is paired against a mammal, so this one felt strange as a beaver is hardly a worthy a rival for the insane Woody.

There are some moments that worked here and the energy was right. The animation was quite polished and the movie is reasonably diverting, but the plot was tiresome and the gags mostly weren’t exciting or effective. It needed a better dynamic between the characters.

Home Sweet Homewrecker has solid animation, but a weak plot and the beaver was not a worthy rival for Woody.
