Baggage Buster Review

Baggage Buster Review

Baggage Buster is a 1941 animated short film from the Goofy series. It is a pretty solid short.

Goofy is the baggage attendant at a train station. When he has to check a magician’s trunk, he gets into trouble when a rabbit comes out of a hat and the animal doesn’t want to go back inside. Later, Goofy has numerous magic-related issues. This was a very odd entry in the Goofy series that doesn’t really fit in with the rest. It’s original for sure, but mostly not for the better.

The animation is excellent here. I loved the various designs of animals and effects incorporated. The movie is quite creative with its premise and some moments are very inventive. But Goofy was sidelined in what was supposed to be his own movie. He did have a couple of fun moments, but not nearly enough as I would want from him.

Baggage Buster has its inventive and creative moments, but the premise was too divergent from the series and Goofy himself was underutilized here.

My Rating – 3.5
