You’re too Careless With Your Kisses! Review

You’re too Careless With Your Kisses! is a 1932 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is such a good, funny short.

Now this is basically a Honey/Bosko outing. Yes, the two characters here are not exactly them as they are honeybees, but other than that, both their relationship and their voices are exactly the same. But that isn’t the problem as I am always up for more Honey and Bosko. Here they are very good and the titular line is absolutely hilarious when spoken by her. I also really liked the titular song as well as it catchy and well sung. Such a typically strong 30s number.

The problem here is that the action is quite familiar and actually sometimes rehashed. It is never as good as the other aspects here are. The villain has his moments, but is ultimately not the greatest plus the first half is much better than the second one. But I just loved the animation in this cartoon which is polished and actually quite endearing with excellent world building.

You’re too Careless with Your Kisses! has its problems in terms of the action, but the characters are great and the titular line and song are excellent.
