Top Ten Film Posters of 2015

Top Ten Film Posters of 2015

The year of 2015 had many typical movie posters, but the ones that stood out to me are the ones that are not only highly memorable, but also artistic and just beautiful to behold. These are in my opinion the ten best posters of the year.

The Good Dinosaur Poster

10. The Good Dinosaur

It is only fitting that the film with such arresting visuals gets to have awesome posters and The Good Dinosaur has many great ones with the finest of the bunch being this wonderful poster with Arlo and Spot surrounded by fireflies. It is the most artistic and most beautiful moment in the film and the film captures it really well.

9. The Lobster

I really disliked this movie, but there is no denying the fact that its poster is really good. Its imagery is very unique, the poster is very memorable and it is thematically in line with the movie itself.

The Martian Poster

8. The Martian

The Martian is a flawed movie, but its special effects are admittedly great and this poster proves that. One of the great things about the movie is how it perfectly makes use of the planet itself and the poster is also like that – it showcases the color of orange and I like the incorporation of Damon’s face as well as the Martian imagery.

The Assassin Poster

7. The Assassin

The Assassin is another weak movie that is only great in terms of imagery and artistry. The poster itself is really good as well with the great use of colors and the protagonist being at the center of the picture is also nice.

Racing Extinction Poster

6. Racing Extinction

Racing Extinction is a great movie all around, but its artistry in the third act is evident. And this poster emphasizes that wonderfully. This scene is the most moving in the movie and there are different variations of this picture, but I like this one with the tiger the most and the whole idea of this project is remarkable.

5. Kingsman: The Secret Service

Kingsman’s poster is one of those that consist of the film’s major characters and while most posters such as that were overcrowded this year, this one is thankfully not like that as it captures just the film’s most important characters and it does that in a great way.

Ex Machina Poster

4. Ex Machina

Ex Machina is one of the year’s best movies and its poster emphasizes the most important person in it which is Ava the robot. She is quite intriguing here and the tag line in the middle is great as well.

Tangerine Poster

3. Tangerine

Tangerine has one of the most memorable posters of the year as it is just amazing. The use of colors is superb along with the shadows of the two protagonists on the right. It is a great movie, but the poster itself is fantastic as well and so artistic.

Mad-Max-Fury-Road-Poster

2. Mad Max: Fury Road

This film certainly has some great scenery in it and the poster captures that superbly. I love the desert here, the colors and the tag line in particular is terrific as it is most memorable line in the entire film. In terms of its technical aspects, it is a beautiful movie to watch and this picture showcases that superbly.

The Hateful Eight Poster

1. The Hateful Eight

The Hateful Eight isn’t the greatest movie, but its poster is by far the best of the entire year. It is simply put unforgettable and so recognizable. I love the haberdashery in the background and all of the characters going in its direction. And of course the use of snow is excellent. It is such a memorable poster that is absolutely terrific and easily the best one on this list.

Honorable Mentions:

Maze Runner: The Scorch TrialsThe one with the characters running from hill to hill is the best one for this film with such a great scenery.

Tomorrowland – The title place in the background is visually arresting and I love that they used the memorable grass scene for the poster.

CinderellaThis one is an easy pick. It showcases the best thing about this film which are certainly the costumes with this dress being beautiful.
