Hatch Up Your Troubles Hatch Up Your Troubles Review

Hatch Up Your Troubles is a 1949 animated short that is the 41st of Tom and Jerry shorts. It is a repetitive, but somewhat interesting entry.

This short is quite disappointing as its plot is quite typical and the action can get pretty repetitive. It is also way too fast paced for its own good because most of that action is uninspired. It is one of the worse entries of the time, but the one that is still solid as it has its strengths. The baby woodpecker, for one, is a solid introduction. He is a typical character, but is well used and the relationship between Jerry and him is quite good.

Tom also has his moments with the belly busting scene being the most memorable. The humor is okay, but could have been better. The highlight is the ending with the tree cutting being so clever and fun. I wish the movie had more moments like that as those moments were so good and funny, but the rest of the flick is uninspired when compared to them.

Hatch Up Your Troubles is disappointing and repetitive, but with some solid action and a couple of very good scenes.

My Rating – 3.6
