Toby Tortoise Returns ReviewToby Tortoise Returns Review

Toby Tortoise Returns is a 1936 Disney short film in the Silly Symphony series. It is such an odd, but definitely fun film.

This is basically a sequel to ‘The Tortoise and the Hare’ and naturally is it much weaker as the original is one of the best entries in the series. This film crammed too much characters in it and the overall fight felt very typical and the way they had Toby win was to me pretty expected.

However, there is no denying that this film is fun. It was so much fun seeing all of those characters from other Silly Symphonies appear such as Practical Pig from ‘Three Little Pigs’ and Jenny Wren from ‘Who Killed Cock Robin?’ She was easily the highlight here as was expected as her lines are so funny. Max and Toby are also well utilized and they have the same personalities as before. I overall liked this entry despite finding it to be too weird.

Toby Tortoise Returns is sometimes typical and too weird, but a lot of fun with great cameos and entertaining action.

My Rating – 3.5
