Stealin Aint Honest ReviewStealin Aint Honest Review

Stealin Aint Honest is a 1940 animated short from Popeye the Sailor series. It is a very funny, albeit rushed part.

Stealin Aint Honest moves at an extremely frenetic pace thus sacrificing the build-up. The plot and the setting are never properly established and it is just so damn fast. But other than that, I really enjoyed it as it is obviously so traditional and old-fashioned not only in its action, but also in humor.

I finally liked Bluto’s voice and his character is so well used. Olive has her moments as well, but it is Popeye who is the best one owing to some really funny lines. The action is also pretty good and the whole film is very exciting while also being genuinely funny. It is well executed despite its mediocre pacing.

Stealin Aint Honest is frenetic, but funny and pleasantly traditional with a great use of Bluto and Popeye.
