Snoopy's Getting Married, Charlie Brown ReviewSnoopy’s Getting Married, Charlie Brown Review

Snoopy’s Getting Married, Charlie Brown is a 1985 animated television special and the 28th entry in the Peanuts series. It is one of the best Snoopy oriented specials.

Even though this still has the problems that every Snoopy centric special has including the lack of focus on other characters and a very repetitive feel to it, it is still one of the better ones mostly because it is just so much fun for most of its running time. Snoopy isn’t hilarious, but he is pretty funny at times and I really liked the conclusion here.

I loved this premise, it’s crazy, but it gives us many funny moments. Snoopy not wanting to marry and being nervous led to some great gags and Charlie Brown is really well utilized here. Now, let’s talk about the other two beagles. Genevieve has her funny moments, but it is Spike who is the highlight as Snoopy’s brother. He is such a memorable new character who is not only funny, but also really well developed and I really liked the attention to detail that went into his characterization from his endearing home to the road trip to his moustaches. I hope he returns. And even though the other characters are boring, at least a couple of these are great.

Snoopy’s Getting Married is lacking in hilarity and strong focus, but Snoopy is so funny here as is his brother Spike who is such a memorable new character and the special overall is satisfying enough.

My Rating – 3.4
