Pest Pilot Review

 Pest Pilot is a 1941 animated short from Popeye the Sailor series. It is a very weak entry.

Here we go again with a Pappy short and unlike the previous entry ‘Child Psykolojiky‘, this one is pretty weak and forgettable. You have a good animation with the plane action being very well animated and you’ve got a very good ending with both characters being at their sweetest, but everything else is uninspired and plain boring.

The plot in which Pappy wants to fly an airplane and Popeye doesn’t want to let him is pretty dull, slow and typical. Nothing here is funny and the film is way too uneventful and leisurely paced for a Popeye cartoon. Some scenes are good, but in its entirety, it is far from a memorable or even a good short.

Pest Pilot has its fine moments, but it’s mostly quite uninspired, slow and awfully dull.
