The tenth season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia continues its consistent streak with a high number of quality episodes.

I’ve seen many pigs eat many men. It was a bloodbath

The Gang Beats Boggs is a highly uneven episode with an exceptionally strong premise, but weaker execution. I am talking about the characters. Whereas Dee and Dennis are great here, all of the others are mostly pretty forgettable.
The Gang Group Dates again features superb Dennis and Dee who really killed it this time around. The premise is amazing and I wonder why they haven’t done this already. Dennis being paranoid led to a lot of funny scenes and the highlight is Dee banging lots of men to give them bad grades as it turned out they thought she was a whore.
Psycho Pete Returns is odd and uneven, but Cricker is so funny here in a typically brutal fashion plus you gotta respect the show for being consistent and introducing us constantly to the people from their high school we heard a lot about, very rewarding.
Charlie Work started off pretty weakly, but it still ended up being one of the most intriguing and mostly satisfactory experiments from the show with a uniquely executed scenario.

The Gang Spies Like U.S. just didn’t mash well with its two subplots and Dee’s part was oddly put together, but the jokes around the term creampie were very amusing.
The Gang Misses the Boat is simply great! As the standout of this season, it is also one of the essential episodes when characterization is concerned and one of the most different and ultimately truthful. Everyone was great here, but Dee and Charlie having sex I did not see coming and I honestly gasped at the sight of it. It was a weird, yet sort of expected thing to happen and I really liked it despite it being a one-off. But the best part is the ending where Mac absolutely shines. It is a great, important moment when we realize that he truly is gay and very closeted and that he likes to remain that way. But it was also a pretty hilarous scene.
Mac Kills His Dad is a pretty good episode. I dislike the constant use of Bill Ponderosa, but Maureen got some great moments and the highlight is again Mac and his analysis of his father’s gay sex with another prisoner.
The Gang Goes on Family Fight has a couple of awesome moments, especially with Charlie, but I still expected much bigger things from a great premise such as this one. But Keegan-Michael Key was a great guest star here.
Frank Retires is another odd episode in a season full of them. The conclusion was weak, but some scenes like the guys getting too much blood from Frank cracked me up for sure.

Ass Kickers United: Mac and Charlie Join a Cult is another weird, this time even campy episode that has its moments, but is ultimately too silly to stick in the mind.

In the end, this tenth season is too weird and too many episodes are uneven, but some are great, Dennis is superb here and Mac continues to be one of the highlights.

Worst Episodes: The Gang Beats Boggs and Ass Kickers United: Mac and Charlie Join a Cult.

Best Episodes: The Gang Group Dates and The Gang Misses the Boat.

My Rating – 4.1
