Alpine Antics ReviewAlpine Antics Review

Alpine Antics is a 1936 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a solid, fun little flick.

It basically follows Beans as he is skiing in the Alps but a bully torments him. It is literally a Disney/Mickey Mouse film but with Looney Tunes characters which isn’t a bad thing, but I wasn’t thrilled with it either. The score was forgettable, but the animation is very good this time around though the character designs still need some work.

I liked the ending and some of the action was pretty good. But although quite fun, the film still could have been more entertaining given the premise. Beans is solid here and the villain is your typical 30s villain but that character is still fun. I really think that this is a traditional period for the series as the cartoons are improved in quality from the previous years but they still aren’t the classics that the future ones are going to be.

Alpine Antics is fun and likable, but unoriginal and mostly too typical to be memorable in the long run.

My Rating – 3.5
